   Migration for Development

Migration for Development activities aim to transfer the vital skills and resources of the diaspora to support the development of their countries of origin.

IOM UK currently implements the following programmes:

  • Migration for Development in the Western Balkans (MIDWEB): The overall objective of the project is to strengthen and increase the capacity of the existing network of Migrant Service Centres in the Western Balkans in order to ensure efficient dissemination of information about legal channels for migration among potential labour migrants and to provide opportunities for return of skills and human capital and their contribution to the development of the Western Balkans (WB) to the mutual benefit of migrants and countries of origin. This Western Balkan countries involved in this project are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo (under UNSCR 1244), the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

Please click on the links to view the MIDWEB information sheet in Infosheet_MIDWEB English, Albanian, BHS Languages, Macedonian and Serbian.

If you are a member of the diaspora from the countries named above and wish to find out more about this project, please contact Chiara Gnoli at cgnoli@iom.int or call 020 7811 6053.
